To design, install and commission a solar thermal preheat system to support 711 apartments.
The installation consists of 240 Riomay® DF120 solar panels spread over 800m2 on the roofs at the Highbury Square development. The system produces 350,000kw hours of energy each year (10% of the total buildings energy footprint) to heat 56,000 litres of stored water held in 7 bespoke 8,000 litre Calorifiers. The system provides residents of the 711 apartments with an environmentally efficient supply of hot water for around 40 weeks of the year, in conjunction with a CHP plant and gas fired boilers.
